Mother-in-Law Suite

This was a fantastic project for some wonderful clients. Our clients had recently retired and moved to the Puget Sound area. They had purchased their dream house and they were ready for retirement. However, after spending the first Winter away from the family they realized that they needed a place to spend part of their time closer to home. One of their family members had a home with an attached six car garage. We were able to convert half of the garage into a multi-generational living space for the whole family to enjoy. As you can see, it has a large great room with a full kitchen, stacked washer and dryer, large, built-in entertainment center with storage on both sides and barn door that separates the “master” bedroom and private, three-quarter bath from the main living area. The bathroom has his and hers sinks, a pantry, a walk-in shower and heated tile floor. The space is heated by a mini split system that also provides AC in the Summer. Finally, both rooms have access to the back yard for family activities. Now our client spends long holidays, vacations and Summer months with their family.
